The IKF Coach Certification Program ensures that all Kenshido instructors meet high technical, educational, ethical, and safety standards.
Coaches are not only technicians, but educators, protectors, and role models, especially for children and youth.

Purpose of Coach Certification
The IKF Coach Certification program aims to:
- Guarantee safe and structured instruction
- Protect children and youth
- Standardize Kenshido teaching worldwide
- Promote ethical and professional coaching
- Ensure compliance with IKF Rules and Statutes
Only IKF-certified coaches are authorized to teach Kenshido under the IKF name.
IKF Coach Certification Levels
IKF Coach Level 1 – Assistant Coach
Role:
- Assist senior coaches
- Teach basic techniques
- Support Kids and beginner programs
Requirements:
- Minimum Yellow Belt
- Basic technical evaluation
- First Aid & CPR certification
- Knowledge of child protection rules
IKF Coach Level 2 – Certified Coach
Role:
- Lead training sessions
- Prepare athletes for competition
- Teach Kids, Youth, and Adults
Requirements:
- Minimum Green or Brown Belt
- Technical and pedagogical examination
- First Aid & CPR certification
- Knowledge of competition rules
- Ethical conduct approval
IKF Coach Level 3 – Senior / International Coach
Role:
- Train high-level athletes
- Lead national programs
- Certify assistant coaches
- Represent IKF internationally
Requirements:
- Black Belt
- Extensive coaching experience
- Advanced technical evaluation
- Leadership and ethics assessment
- Approval by IKF Technical Committee
- Mandatory Coach Obligations
All IKF-certified coaches must:
- Respect IKF Rules, Statutes, and Code of Ethics
- Apply child-protection and anti-bullying policies
- Ensure athlete safety at all times
- Maintain professional behavior
- Cooperate with referees and officials
Violation of these obligations may result in suspension or withdrawal of certification.
Certification Validity & Renewal
Coach certifications are time-limited
Renewal requires:
- Continued education
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification
- Ethical compliance review
- Coach Certification Benefits
Certified IKF coaches gain:
- Official IKF recognition
- Authorization to teach Kenshido
- Access to IKF programs and events
- Eligibility for international seminars
- Inclusion in IKF official registry
